Blogging Mistakes
Here’s my list of blogging mistakes that I try to avoid:
1. Not Blogging Consistently
A blog without new content is dead blog. Will you visit a blog again and again if there’s no new posts. That’s the reason I add new posts everyday.
2. Not using own domain for your blog
If you use own domain you’ve freedom to your blog – customize design, insert new plugins, etc.
3. Wait people to find you
There’s so many blogs and websites, so you need to promote somehow your blog. But the good news is that if your blog is really useful and unique you don’t need to spend much time promoting it.
4. To many adds
The truth is that people hate ads. They visit your blog to read something useful, not for ads there.
5. Give up
Blogging is not easy. That’s why you can see so many failures in web.
6. Too long post
People are too busy to read long posts. So, if it is possible, write your posts shorter.
7. Writing for search engines
If your blog is useful for people, it’ll be useful for search engines, too
8. Blogging only for the money
Blogging is not a fast way to make money. If you blog only for the money, it is too possible to give up.
9. Blogging for something not interesting to you
Similar to Mistake #8, if you are not interested in what you are blogging, it is too possible to give up.
10. Not include your opinion
Blog is personal. If you don’t include your don’t expect to have a unique blog.
11. Repeat something that everyone knows
same as Mistake #11.
12. Changing your blog address
I’ve changed the address of my blog and that hurt SEO much. If you move your blog to a new address forget about traffic from search engine for couple of months.
13. Focus only in design
People visit your blog to read, so make their reading comfortable. It’s easy, all you need is simple design.
14. Not linking to others
If you not link to other, less blogger will link to you.
15. Ignoring readers’ Comments
When you read comments you can learn what people think about you and your blog. So, I read all your comments ![]()
16. Meaningless post titles
When people visit your blog they read post title first. If they find it useful they will read the post, too. If the title is meaningless they won’t read your post and will close the page with your blog.
17. Not learning anything
If you don’t learn new things, you won’t be able to write new and interesting post.
18. Copy others content
It is not good to steal content: not good for seo and not interesting post for the readers.
19. Not being useful
People visit your blog to find something useful for them. So, give it to them
20. Care only about number of visits
If you have many visitors with average time on site 1 – 2 sec. that’s mean they don’t find your blog useful.
21. Not using WordPress
There’s no better blogging platform than WP.
22. Adding too many plugins
It may slow your blog down. Does anyone likes slow loading blogs
23. Not being in Facebook
Many people use Facebook, allow them to join you in Facebook. Create a fan page and add its widget in your blog. By the way, you can join my fan page, too
24. Not being in Twitter
Twitter will let you to notify your followers about your new posts.
25. Not communicate with your readers
If you don’t communicate with you readers, it will be harder to find your mistakes.

If you want to make your blog popular thing about its branding ‘How people will remember and recognize your blog?’
27. Not signing up to webmaster and bloggers forum
You can learn much about blogging from the forums.
28. Not knowing your target customers
If you don’t know your target customers, it’s hard to kind what to write about.
29. Letting the people who tell you that it’s not possible earn money from blogging
When you begin blogging, there will be many people that will tell you that you want succeed with your blog. If you listen to them, it’s 100% guaranteed that you won’t succeed.
30. Not planning
Blogging needs time. Ex. for the current article, I spend 2 hours to write it. It’s not easy, every day I spend at least 1 hour for my blog. It’s not easy, so I should plan my time.

I have learned a lot from my past experience in blogging. I have realized that quality is much more important than quantity. If you write good then your blog gets popular by word of mouth. I have fairly successful blog. I could have reached to a higher level but I was unable to give more time to writing.
My wishes for your blog
I agree with Guttu. Besides, not everyone comes up with stuff to write every day. I sure can’t unless i really make an effort. And if i make an effort it’s not longer fun. If it’s not fun, i end up seeing no point in blogging.
People should find stuff that makes them really wanna talk about it and share knowledge because if you are writing *only* for fame and fortune chances are you will stop at some point
Pedro
same as I did. Lol
