After I upgraded to Windows 7 I wanted to test my asp.net applications under Windows 7 IIS. By default, after install Windows 7 IIS is not installed, but it can be installed very easy:

1. Open ‘Control Panel’ > ‘Programs and Features’

2. In the left panel, click on ‘Turn Windows features on or off’

3. In the Dialog ‘Windows Features’, check the ‘Internet Information Services’ option and click OK

4. Open some browser and try to open http://localhost. If you can’t open IIS default’s page, restart your Windows. If everything is ok, your IIS default page should be:

That’s all, IIS is now installed on your Windows 7 :)
